Item 8.01. Other Events
On November 2, 2005, Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors approved a three-for-two stock split, which will be effected in the form of a 50% stock dividend. The new shares will be distributed on November 30, 2005 to shareholders as of the close of business on the record date, November 16, 2005. A copy of this press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
